Hunting season is underway! And off to an excellent start at Hearts Bluff Game Ranch! ” I just want to comment on our recent Hog Hunting Trip at Hearts Bluff Game Ranch, in which we traveled from Fargo, ND. “WE HAD A BLAST”. The accommodations & meals were fabulous, and the guides were there for any and all of your needs. There is such a vast amount of options while there, from hunting different animal species, fishing, trap shooting, or just kicking back and soak up the warm Texas sun. By the second day there, we honestly felt like “regulars” on the ranch. Our hunt was very successful, with the largest hog being a Bore weighing in at 295 Lbs.

“I just wanted to drop you a note and let you know how pleased my group was with this year’s hunt.  I’m really sorry I had to miss it.  The feedback I got from the guys was overwhelmingly positive; no complaints at all.  They said that Jared, Matt, and Jose all did an excellent job as guides, the accommodations were nice as (as usual), and the food was outstanding.  They appreciated the effort that Jared and the guides put in to getting them onto hogs, and they also felt like the care of the meat (immediate field dressing) was much better this year.  My guys said they thought that this was probably the best hunt they’ve had in all 6 years that we’ve been coming.  I would also like to say that you have done an excellent job of working with me to get the hunt set up, changed, and then set up again.  Your great customer service is very much appreciated.

“Hearts Bluff Ranch Staff:

I just wanted to send a short note of thanks for the hospitality and great hunting action we had during our trip last weekend. I’m not sure how you arranged the perfect weather but that was only one of many positive remarks made by members of our group during our drive back home.

First and foremost among the things we liked are the people we met. Jose, our guide, took outstanding care of us and he was 110% committed to making sure that we had a positive experience during our stay. He quickly found the optimal balance between helping us when we needed it and giving us the personal space we wanted when we were hunting. We completely maximized our hunting time and I’m sure we would not have been able to do that without Jose’s assistance and experience. He made sure that the entire experience exceeded our expectations…which it did. It was also nice to have some of the other guides join us during meals to discuss recent activities and harvests on the ranch. Great people all around.

Kathy did an outstanding job with the meals. The only thing that was better than the food was the way she took care of us. We made some changes to the meal schedule with little/no notice as a result of hunting and recovering hogs and she handled them wonderfully. Kathy and the rest of her helpers did a very nice job.

Brandi did a great job with scheduling our group and following up as the date got closer to make sure that we were ready to go. She answered all of our questions and got us through the paperwork and licensing quickly and smoothly.

It’s been a couple years since my last trip to Hearts Bluff. I was very impressed with the lodging/accommodations and all the work you have done around the ranch. After long days of hunting, riding ATV’s, walking and spotlighting hogs it was a real pleasure to return to the comfort of the accommodations which were absolutely fantastic.

Lastly, the hunting, we were trying to count the number of hogs we saw and we could not agree on a number but we all agreed that there were a lot. We had multiple opportunities every day to harvest hogs. The action was fast and it really was a great experience for everyone in our group. We came away with several “meat hogs” which filled our coolers and a nice boar. Every member of our group also had sightings of very large hogs during the hunt. The largest we harvested was 200 pounds but there are clearly hogs roaming around the ranch that are much larger.

We will definitely be back…and we will probably have a few more in our group for the next trip!! Thanks again to everyone at Hearts Bluff.
